OverviewIn 1999, the U.S. Congress funded the implementation of a federal initiative-the Alaska Interagency Aviation Safety Initiative-to reduce aviation-related injuries and fatalities and to promote aviation safety in cooperation with the air transportation industry and pilots in Alaska.
