Seesaw Friends Are Best: A Tale Of Friendship

Overview

A little elephant's big wish sparks a jungle-wide adventure - proving that when friends work together, anything is possible. A Joyful Tale of Teamwork, Kindness, and Play Seesaw Friends Are Best: A Tale of Friendship is a heartwarming picture book that celebrates empathy, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Born on the same day in the Ivory Coast of Africa, an elephant calf named Edgar and a baby chimpanzee named Agnes become fast friends. When Edgar longs to soar high like Agnes does in the trees, he soon discovers he isn't built the same way. But that doesn't stop their fun! Together with a group of jungle animal friends-and the help of a seesaw made from fallen logs-they learn that when everyone works together, wonderful things can happen. Even the tiniest friend makes a big difference! Perfect for ages 3-8, this charming read-aloud supports social-emotional learning (SEL), classroom cooperation, and character development. A great resource for teachers, parents, and homeschoolers, this story encourages kindness, perseverance, and joyful collaboration. This beautifully illustrated book also inspires discussions about differences, strengths, and the power of friendship in overcoming challenges. Includes free downloadable classroom resources, songs, cheers, and reading guides for Pre-K through 2nd grade-plus optional STEM and Christian content. These bonus materials can be found on the author's website to extend learning and fun beyond the story.

Author Information

Charlotte has been telling stories since she could talk-about imaginary animals, and the occasional invisible friend. Her love of stories was sparked by her grandmother's enchanting voice reading nursery rhymes from a book that seemed bigger than Charlotte herself. From living room performances with her siblings to traveling the country with puppets, clowns, and a suitcase full of tales, Charlotte has shared her stories with wide-eyed children everywhere. Whether in a cozy classroom, or a bustling auditorium, she believes every good story can capture the imagination, transport, inspire, and teach. With a degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Reading Education, Charlotte spent years teaching children to read and fall in love with books-just like she once did. Charlotte is also a credentialed minister of Christian Education, where her love for nurturing young hearts and minds through story and spiritual growth naturally intertwine. She's been married to her favorite adventure partner, Wayne, for 55 years. They've raised two wonderful children, adore their five grandchildren, and are already dreaming up stories to share with future great-grandchildren. When not writing, Charlotte enjoys horseback riding, antiquing, and camping in her vintage camper (which, rumor has it, might be a cozy western retreat). Ferdinando is a self-taught illustrator and graphic designer who's been bringing stories to life since 2009. After starting out in the world of Japanese manga, he followed his curiosity through caricatures and creative experiments before finding his true calling in children's book illustration. Since 2015, he's worked as a full-time freelancer, crafting playful, heartfelt images from his cozy home in Lawang, a quiet town in East Java, Indonesia, where he lives with his wife.
