Overview

In this volume of Scary Cat, Pipa watches her first Scary Movie with her big sister. Most children develop a fear of Aliens from watching spooky movies. Even though the book focuses on aliens, Peekaboo represents all movie monsters. He does the classic jump scares. I made his design bug-like, to make him extremely different from Pipa. Plus, a good number of folks have bug phobias. I gave him the name Peekaboo to parody jump scares. Peekaboo is a traditional children's game where the parents hide behind something and then pop out. In the middle of the story, Pipa's sister stops the film to explain Aliens. Most fears are rooted in the unknown. Education is the best way to dispel children's irrational fear of Evil Aliens and other movie monsters.
