Santorini Caesars

Overview

Hop on an (imaginary) plane and discover the Chief Inspector Andreas Kaldis Mysteries-""thoughtful police procedurals set in picturesque but not untroubled Greek locales"" (The New York Times), pairing intriguing characters and beautiful settings with twisty and cunning crimes. ""Siger is more than a master storyteller; he's a historian and diarist for modern Greece"" NEW YORK JOURNAL OF BOOKS ""International police procedural writing at its best"" BOOKLIST STARRED REVIEW ""Will appeal to fans of Donna Leon and Louise Penny"" PUBLISHERS WEEKLY ""International crime fans need to be reading this consistently strong series"" BOOKLIST ""Siger is a wonderful storyteller whose love of Greece is infectious"" DEADLY PLEASURES MAGAZINE _______________________ The Greek nation's fragile fabric hangs in the balance and Chief Inspector Andreas Kaldis is the only one who can save his country from chaos-but at what cost? Greece's government is in chaos. When a young demonstrator is assassinated by highly trained killers in the heart of protest-charged Athens, Chief Inspector Andreas Kaldis of Greece's Special Crimes Division is convinced the killing was meant not to take out a target, but to send a message. A message from whom, though? To whom? And why? Kaldis' search for answers leads him and his team to the breathtakingly beautiful island of Santorini-and to eavesdrop on a hush-hush gathering of Greece's top military leaders, who are looking to come up with their own response to the overwhelming crisis their country faces. Is it a coup d'état, or something else? Greece is no stranger to violence upending duly elected governments, and the answer is by no means clear. As suspects emerge and international intrigues evolve, the threat of another, far more dramatic assassination grows ever more likely-as does the realization that only Kaldis can stop it. But at what price? With its gorgeous Greek locations, engaging characters, and fast-paced plotting, this critically acclaimed international crime series is an excellent pick for fans of DONNA LEON, LOUISE PENNY, MARTIN WALKER, and DAVID HEWSON. Find out why The New York Times named Jeffrey Siger as Greece's thriller novelist of record today! Praise for SANTORINI CAESARS: ""An action-packed plot [and] breathtaking Greek scenery . . . International crime fans need to be reading this consistently strong series"" Booklist ""A rock-solid mystery [which] comments incisively about so many issues besetting Europe and the world today"" Huffington Post ""This up-to-the-minute setting is the backdrop for this excellent novel which not only entertains but informs"" Deadly Pleasures Magazine ""Inspector Kaldis never fails to deliver. Another excellent addition to the series"" Spyros M., 5* Goodreads review ""Balancing between fiction and reality, Jeffrey Siger weaves an amazing story of conspiracy and crime in modern Greece"" Antonis Y., 5* Goodreads review THE CHIEF INSPECTOR ANDREAS KALDIS MYSTERIES: 1. Author Information

Jeffrey Siger is an American living on the Aegean Greek island of Mykonos. A former Wall Street lawyer, he gave up his career as a name partner in his own New York City law firm to write the international bestselling, award-recognized Chief Inspector Andreas Kaldis series. The New York Times has named him as Greece's thriller novelist of record, and the Greek government selected him as the only American author writing novels that serve as a guide to Greece. He's also served as Chair of the National Board of Bouchercon, America's largest mystery convention, and as Adjunct Professor of English at Washington & Jefferson College, teaching mystery writing.
