OverviewMy name is Amber Leal and I'm the author of this book. I'm the mother of three beautiful and sassy kids and step-mom to one - together, they form the heart behind our farm name, MECS Farms & Growers. Our family is full of grit, laughter, learning curves, and muddy boots, all woven together by a shared love for the land and each other. This book tells the story of our real-life family adventures as we build a regenerative farm from the ground up. Through hands-on experiences, hard lessons, and meaningful victories, we document how we are intentionally designing our farm to protect and heal the soil so it can grow the healthiest plants and animals possible. At its core, this book is about raising happy, healthy animals that live as close to their natural grazing lives as possible, while nurturing resilient soil and a strong family bond. It's a story of stewardship, curiosity, and choosing a more natural way - one step, one pasture, and one family moment at a time.
