MARY LYN RAY has written many books for children, including Pumpkins, illustrated by Barry Root. She lives in South Danbury, New Hampshire. LAUREN STRINGER is the illustrator of Scarecrow by Cynthia Rylant and Mary Lyn Ray's Mud, which won the Minnesota Book Award. She lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
