Red Dust Open Road is a sweeping historical novel set in the Rhodesian Midlands during the early 1960s, a world of isolated farms, dusty patrol roads, police stations humming beneath slow ceiling fans, and vast African skies stretching endlessly beyond the horizon. At the centre of the story is Constable Ray Brokenshaw, a young district policeman patrolling enormous distances across the Midlands on his faithful Matchless motorcycle.
