Author Information

ANM Alamgir earned his PhD in plant physiology in 1979 at the Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Leningrad State University, Russia. He worked on the absorptional regulation of water and K+ of corn seedlings, and demonstrated the role of root membrane ATPase and kinetin in the process. He earned his MSc in botany from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, and received Commonwealth Fellowship (1990-1991). He has served as Lecturer of Botany at Narail Victoria College, Bangladesh, Senior Scientific Officer (SSO) at the Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (INA) of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), and was Assistant Professor at the University of Chittagong's Department of Botany (Bangladesh), where he taught plant physiology, biochemistry, anatomy and pharmacognosy at graduate and postgraduate levels. He has supervised 40 MSc, 3 MPhil, and 3 PhD research works, and has published more than 60 academic papers and books, including Pharmacognosy (2017) and Phytochemistry and Bioactive Compounds (2018).
