Author Information

Nan Magee writes from a love of language, quiet observation, and the belief that children's stories should honor the depth of their inner worlds. A poet and lifelong lover of books, Nan draws inspiration from gardens, porches, and the small everyday rituals that bring comfort and connection. Her debut picture book, Piper's Little White Dog, grew from a poem she wrote in a local poetry class called Ode to Dog's I Have Lived With. Nan's writing is grounded in rhythm and lyricism, inviting both children and adults to slow down, listen, and share in the beauty of a well-told story. When she isn't writing, Nan can often be found rowing on the Schuylkill River. Liam Henry is an emerging artist whose illustrations for Piper's Little White Dog mark his publishing debut at just eighteen years old. With a background in digital media and fine arts, he brings a fresh, expressive eye to the story. His art captures the personalities and emotions of each character - from Piper's boundless curiosity to her little white dog's joyful mirroring - making readers feel their playful energy and warmth on every page. What makes Liam's work especially memorable is his interpretation of the characters. Through fluid lines, soft watercolor washes, and carefully observed gestures, he conveys personality, emotion, and the unique bonds between family members. His illustrations are lively, tender, and full of heart, drawing readers into Piper's world and inviting them to linger on each spread.Liam is currently studying filmmaking in college
