Acreditamos que ao iniciar seus estudos com diferentes sonoridades, as futuras gerac o es de pianistas ampliara o suas escolhas de reperto rio, podendo encarar as estranhezas sonoras e dificuldades de leitura de uma Sequenza para piano de Luciano Berio, assim como de um estudo de Chopin. * * * * * TODAY PIANO is an U.S. English-Brazilian Portuguese book that contains exercises and simple progressive pieces arranged so as to make piano beginners, or even those with a little more experience, familiar with the sounds of the 20th and 21st centuries. Our main goal is to start piano practice with sounds that avoid the tonal paradigm, by introducing from the outset black keys, electroacoustic music, spatial notation and other poetics already consolidated in the works of the 20th and 21st centuries, while at the same time developing pitch reading. For starters or more experienced students who have not ventured into the non-tonal repertoire yet, we believe that these small exercises will gradually acquaint them with listening to music no longer rooted in the classic-romantic tradition.
