After that jolt, the story moves onto what is supposed to be a fun outing for four young friends. Of course, there has to be a connection, perhaps a dark one. And although horror might not be my go-to genre, I was hooked on reading what it might be. Becca Longford, a year out of high school and dealing with heavy parental issues, hopes she and best friends, Gabby, Toby, and Kyle, can make up for a horrendous prom night a year ago that went far beyond awkward dates. So, as part of their fun time together, they head to the beach. At least, that was the plan. Instead the friends encounter a hellish adventure in a town called Monotony that is chockfull of weirdness, including monsters. Why are these four friends being subjected to this nightmarish situation? Sorry, you will have to find out for yourself.
