Papi, quiero un globo! (Daddy, I Want a Balloon!) is a bilingual (Spanish-English) book of activities which accompanies a CD with a collection of 14 original children's songs in Spanish (also offered through Amazon.com). The book is for parents and teachers and includes the Spanish lyrics and English translations, guitar chords, movement games, dance and visualization activities. Beautiful and playful illustrations comment on the songs and help explain the activities. The songs and activities are best suited for children ages 0-6, but may also be enjoyed by older children and adults. Simple lyrics and enchanting melodies will appeal to students of Spanish as a second language, as well as to Spanish speakers. The author's first work, Mami, d nde est mi zapato? (Mommy, Where's My Shoe?) , was published by The Hampton-Brown Company, under the title C ntame en Espa ol (Sing to Me in Spanish) , and distributed to schools throughout the U.S. between the years 1990-2000. It has also been widely distributed in Mexico. It is loved by several generations of children who grew up singing the Mami songs and by the parents and teachers who sang and played with them. Many of them also made up their own games and versions of the songs. Together with Papi , these two works now comprise the C ntame en Espa ol Series Papi, quiero un globo! provides learning and fun! Author Information

The Author Evelyn Aron was born in New York and moved to Mexico with her family when she was 6. Later on, she returned to the U.S. to finish her college studies. She composed these songs when she lived in Santa Cruz, California, and was teaching Spanish to American children. During those times she was also a flamenco dancer. Evelyn is a translator, language instructor and environmental educator. She also writes poetry and has developed educational materials for health and the environment. She now lives in the city of Cuernavaca, in Mexico. La autora Evelyn Aron nacio en Nueva York y se mudo a Mexico con su familia a los 6 anos. Despues volvio a los E.U. a terminar sus estudios universitarios. Compuso estas canciones cuando vivia en Santa Cruz, California y daba clase de espanol a ninos americanos. En esta epoca fue interprete en la corte y bailarina de flamenco. Evelyn es traductora, maestra de lenguas (ingles y espanol) y educadora ambiental. Tambien escribe poesia y ha desarrollado materiales educativos para la salud y el medio ambiente. Ahora vive en la ciudad de Cuernavaca, en Mexico.
