What is a life skill not taught in high schools but if it were, many young adults would benefit from it? As a 7-year veteran Administrative Assistant & Assistant Property Manager, I have interacted with people of all ages and from all walks of life who were relatively clueless about the fundamentals of renting before signing their first lease. They had no idea of their credit score and lacked crucial information when it came to renewing or ending a lease. Therefore, I created this guide to outline the basics of the process and the expectations of all parties once they sign on the dotted line. And because the life of the renter is more than paying rent each month, I include suggestions from budgeting to choosing the right roommate.
