Author Information

Natalie Awanata Lapahie was born in Bosque Redondo Indian Reservation of the Navajo tribe. As a youngster, she enjoyed nothing better than helping her father, who was taught by his father, a Navajo healer, to practice ancient Navajo herbal medicine practices. In time, she left the reservation to deepen her knowledge and she earned a Master's Degree at New Mexico University, Albuquerque, in Natural Science. Since then, she continued studying and researching natural healing techniques and herbal remedies, and she started her own activity as an herbalist and certified Naturopath, in Fort Sumner. She has a husband and two daughters who she is teaching her family secret herbal remedies for the knowledge to pass to the new generations. Following their advice, she has now decided to share and spread her passion and knowledge with others, by running seminars all around the country and writing books on Traditional Native American Herbal Medicine.
