From daughter Della: ...that spring after Mom died came with green and golden moments. Birds sang. Dandelions yellowed and then quietly began to fluff. There had never been that much quiet, flowing, floating fluff before. It was Mom dancing, embracing, watching, guiding, comforting. She had known all the answers to the questions I didn't even know existed. From son Ben: ...that spring let me remember Mom with joy, not sadness. She celebrated life and approached it with kindness; such a great outlook on life, even from her position of disability. From husband Sam: A few years after Nancy's death Ben asked me if I would have married Nancy had I known of all the difficulties she and I would face. My response was an unhesitating. Absolutely! No other path in life could have been more fulfilling to me. She was playful and wise and deeply curious. She was love. From nephew Denver: While Nancy's body slowly faded, her mind only sharpened. She internally cheered herself into a better mental place, day after day. Having the opportunity to see my aunt's life through her and my mother's eyes has been heart-warming...so many familiar stories and phrases. It felt like home. From niece Carolina: Nancy was someone you could simultaneously know completely, and always want to know more. Her joy, vigor, weirdness, and curiosity live on in all of us, and we are richer for it.
