OverviewA mysterious story of lust, treachery, violent death and reincarnation. Bess was born the first time in Louisiana as the younger daughter of slaves who were emancipated a few years later. She grew up to be an intelligent, adventurous young woman for whom freedom was everything but of particular importance was the freedom to choose what she did and what she didn't believe in. And she chose to reject other people's convictions of a spiritual nature since, it seemed to her, none of them could be proven by the scientific thinking she found so important. To her these philosophies amounted to nothing more than'silly ideas'. However, as a result of her fun-loving and sometimes daringly amorous life style, she ended up getting trapped in various other people's belief systems with hellish results and no obvious way out. Doomed to keep reliving the same mistakes in unending and agonizing reincarnations she finally stumbled on the opportunity to escape and find true freedom, freedom of the spirit. But has she learned life's lessons well enough to be make good use of the chance now that it's finally here? Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationAfter graduating with a degree from Exeter University in England I began a career in education by teaching biology in a school in Salisbury, Wiltshire. From there I went to Queen's College in the Bahamas for three years to play rugby and teach, in that order, and then on to Mexico City to teach at the British Embassy School. Two years after that I found myself at the Banda School in Nairobi in Kenya and that's where I tripped over the film business by working for six months on 'Sheena, Queen of the Jungle'. I've been an Assistant Director in film and TV ever since. During that time I've worked on some great scripts like 'Memento' and some not so great ones like - well, you can look up my resume on IMDB.com if you're really that interested. Of course, with over forty productions under my belt, I started writing my own scripts with some encouraging responses - but no checks. When a good producer friend of mine read the film script of 'My Life in Black and White' he suggested that I write it as a novel - so I did and here it is. I hope you like it.
