My Grandpa is a Mad Scientist

Overview

Lexile Level: 570 L Grade Level 3-7 Gabe is on summer break after seventh grade and his mom is making him spend the vacation time with his reclusive grandpa from out west. Luckily, his cousin Jake will be there. Gabe had only met him once, years ago, but he couldn't remember much of him. To Gabe's surprise, he wasn't staying in a hovel but a lavish castle, with dozens of guest rooms, a full-sized theater, a private tennis court, and a detached garage with dozens of sports cars. With plenty of things to do there wasn't time to cause any mischief, that is until Gabe and Jake find out their grandfather has a hidden laboratory with all sorts of bizarre experiments.

Author Information

ROBERT ZANGARI cut his teeth as an author writing very long form epic fantasy novels. While he adores that genre he also has a fondness for telling spooky children's tales. His love of the original Twilight Zone (1959-1964) and classic Goosebumps (1992 -1997) was formative in his ability to craft eerie stories. Once he was a father, he found himself inspired to create his own fables of fright, which he told as bedtime stories to his children, then 3, 6, and 9. Those stories are now Spookies(R).As of this publication, Robert lives in Northern Utah with his wife, Tamila, and their five daughters.
