Wolford, born in Kent, Ohio in 1956, grew up in Mineral Ridge. He earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy and a master's in theology from The University of Notre Dame. Later, he obtained a master's in public administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a master's in English from Youngstown State University. Wolford taught freshman English and Mythology at YSU for five years and is a published literary critic. He spent most of his career at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Human Resources Development as a corporate trainer. Currently, he volunteers and writes, including his book My Florilegium.
