She is the author of nine collections of poetry, and has translated Samuel Beckett, T.S. Eliot, Robert Hass and Philip Larkin among others. She was awarded the Veracruz Prize for her translations of Seamus Heaney's poetry. Lorna Shaughnessy lectures in the Department of Spanish at NUI, Galway.
