Eve Ensler (Nueva York, 1953) es dramaturga, intérprete, feminista y activista social. Su multipremiada obra Monólogos de la vagina ha sido traducida a cuarenta y cinco lenguas y representada en ciento doce países. Ensler es, asimismo, fundadora y directora artística de V-Day, un movimiento global contra la violencia hacia las niñas y las mujeres que, en diecinueve, años ha recaudado cien millones de dólares para combatir la violencia de género y el feminicidio. Otra de sus obras más conocidas es I am an emotional creature (2015), compuesta por monólogos y diálogos que cuentan situaciones de diferentes mujeres jóvenes de alrededor del mundo. Las actividades pacifistas en las que ha participado por todo el mundo le han hecho merecedora de varios premios importantes, incluido uno por liderazgo que le otorgó en el 2002 la organización humanitaria Amnistía Internacional.
