Author Information

"Agatha Christie is the most widely published author of all time, outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare. Her books have sold more than a billion copies in English and another billion in a hundred foreign languages. She died in 1976, after a prolific career spanning six decades. Hugh Fraser, an Earphones Award-winning narrator, is an English actor and theater director who is best known for his portrayal of Captain Hastings in the television series Agatha Christie's Poirot. He studied acting at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and is an associate tutor, director, and member of the audition panel at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, specializing in Shakespeare. David Suchet, famed as TV's Hercule Poirot, has starred with the RSC, on London's West End and on Broadway, winning four Olivier nominations and a Tony nomination. He has starred in numerous films and is director of the Old Vic Theatre, and a member of the Trust Council of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Joan Hickson (1906-1998) was an actress who appeared on stage in several plays and in over seventy films. She is best known for playing Miss Marple in the BBC television series, a role that was encouraged by Agatha Christie, who wrote, "" hope you will play my dear Miss Marple"" after seeing Hickson in Christie's Appointment with Death."
