OverviewJimmy Doyle is a detective working for Lucius Fogg, a preeminent occultist who likes to pass the time by unraveling supernatural crimes. When a malignant rival from Fogg's past announces that he's running for mayor, Doyle is sent to discover what his real plan is. Through his fearmongering campaign, Kieron Drake reveals the truth about the creatures in Old Town and puts the vital balance between the human and occult worlds on a collision course. To get to the truth and save millions of citizens from a hellish fate, Doyle will have to sacrifice his friends, his love, and even his mortal soul. A short story called Three Little Ladies All in the Morgue was written in two thousand five and introduced the characters of Lucius and Jimmy Doyle. In two thousand ten, while looking for a new project to play with, Dan decided to tell more stories with his occultist and detective and began about writing what would be the bulk of this novel live on Twitter. With no pre-planning, Dan would write a chapter a day live using Twitter and its 140 character per post limit. By combining the short story and the Twitter story, Dan came up with Deadly Creatures.
