After ten years practicing law and another fifteen teaching at universities in Saint Louis, Missouri, the author was invited to teach American law at Handong University in Korea. Every year the university is voted top in the country based on student satisfaction with the professors. While Professor Schulten was here, he was a part of that. Beloved by his colleagues and students, it was hard to see him go after being such a staple of the community for so long. These diaries and memoirs of his journey from teaching at Missouri Baptist University to becoming a Professor at Handong are exciting, humorous, and inspirational. His journey is full of twists, turns, lows, and highs. These memoirs are real and transparent. Most importantly, they reflect the sovereign hand of Professor's Schulten's God--the same God that is guiding all of our lives. Though you may not be familiar with Professor Schulten or Handong University (Google it! It is an awesome institution!), you will find the story uplifting and applicable to your life. And we named that trail A Disciples' Walk. I learned so much from Cordell as I walked together with him during his time of the pilgrim journey in this alien corner of the Korean peninsula, a journey filled with pleasant surprises and deep frustrations which led him and all those around him to know more about life and its divine author. Reading this book helped me realize that it was through my walk with Cordell that I am getting better at listening to others without assuming to understand them and that it was through observing his life on this campus that I now have a different perspective on those divine interruptions on my daily activities.
