Author Information

Ksenija Tokić graduated in Italian Studies, Phonetics and Librarianship and earned a PhD degree in Information Sciences. She spent the majority of her professional career at the Institute for Tourism in Zagreb, Croatia as the head of the library, and technical director of the scientific journal Tourism: An International Interdisciplinary Journal published by the Institute for Tourism. Her main areas of scientific interest include the role of libraries in tourism and the economy, scientific communication in a digital environment, information literacy vs. illiteracy, and bibliometrics. She is a member of several domestic and international associations. She has participated as a coordinator, leader, or associate in several domestic and international projects. She has published numerous scientific and professional papers in domestic and international journals and conference proceedings. Ivo Tokić graduated in Comparative Literature, Phonetics and Librarianship, earned a Master's degree in Information Sciences and completed an Executive MBA at Cotrugli Business School, Croatia. He spent the majority of his professional career at Croatian national oil company INA, d.d., where he worked as a librarian, information analyst, director of the business intelligence service, and leading expert for the quality management system. He is currently employed at the National and University Library in Zagreb as the head of the Information and Referral Service. He is also the president of the Croatian Information and Documentation Society. His areas of scientific and professional interest in information sciences include the role of libraries in society, cultural heritage and tourism.
