Author Information

Georgios C. Paraskeviotis is an Assistant Professor of Latin Philology in the Department of Humanities at Democritus University of Thrace (Komotini, Greece). He studied Classical Philology at Democritus University of Thrace and earned an MA and PhD in Latin from the University of Leeds, UK. He has taught Latin language and literature at the University of Leeds, the University of Patras, Greece and the University of Cyprus. His research focuses on Latin Pastoral Poetry, Augustan Poetry (particularly Vergil), Roman Comedy, Roman Satire, and the role of humour in Latin literature. Gabriel Evangelou is an Assistant Professor of Latin Literature in the Department of History and Digital Humanities at Ionian University, Greece. He studied Classical Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and earned an MA and PhD in Classics from the University of Edinburgh, UK. He has taught Greek and Latin literature as well as Philosophy at the Ionian University, the University of Crete, Greece, the University of Cyprus and Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. His research mainly explores Roman epistolography, humour in Latin literature and the role of emotions in persuasion. He has published on Cicero's letters, the intricacies of reconciliation in the Roman world and the use of repulsion and disgust in Martial's epigrams.
