Dr. Wilkerson dropped out of high school in the 10th grade, and joined the U.S.Navy. While in the military, he obtained his G.E.D. When he returned to civilian life, he worked in a steel manufacturing plant for 13 years. Realizing his need for a good education, he enrolled in college he was 29 years old, married, and with four chil-dren. He double majored and graduated with a B.A. in only three and one-half years. From there, he went to graduate school where he earned both a masters and doctorate degrees. He financed his education by working, using the G.I. Bill, and taking advantage of a small tuition grant in college. He completed both college and graduate school without borrowing and going into debt. He firmly believes that if he could do it-you can too!
