It is said that every story has been told or written before. ""There are no new stories to tell,"" they say. But as we know they keep being retold and rewritten with a new twist, for a new audience. The same is true of every life; the ones before us and the ones that will come after us. They all have similarities to our own, but none exactly the same. In this one simple man's life you will see that our lives are not our own, and that no matter who we are or where we come from, we impact the people around us our whole life. Our lives do matter. I am a fifty-nine-year-old backhoe operator. It seems odd, I know, that I would be writing a book. I would have never guessed thirty years ago that I would learn to love to write. If someone would have walked up to me and said, ""You are going to fall in love with words."" I probably would have laughed at them. But as fate, irony, and life would have it I did learn to love to write. I love words that evoke thought, emotion, inspiration and hope for the future. It isn't easy finding what you truly love to do in life, but I have: to write.
