Is Daddy Going To Be Okay?: A true story of love, loss, and learning to carry on

Overview

What happens when the love of your life becomes a statistic? When Emma Charlesworth's husband, Stuart ""Charlie"" Charlesworth, took his temperature on Mother's Day 2020, she had no idea it was the beginning of the end. Less than a month later, he had died, another number in the devastating toll of COVID-19 in the UK. At thirty-nine, Emma became a widow, their ten-year-old daughter left fatherless, and life as they knew it shattered. But this is more than a widow's story. It is a testament to love, loss, and the human spirit's ability to endure. Emma writes not just with grief, but with wit, warmth, and resilience. As she takes readers through their twenty-one-year love story, making her unbearable loss feel both deeply personal and universally understood, Emma's voice is clear in her fierce determination to keep Charlie's legacy alive. A true story of love, loss, and learning to carry on. --------------------------- Emma's writing captures both the raw rollercoaster of grief and the quiet strength it takes to get life back on track after such a devastating loss."" Stephanie Patrick, Chief Executive, WAY Widowed and Young

Reviews

""In her blog Life is a rollercoaster, Emma has been writing with honesty, courage and humour about love, grief and finding a way forward after her husband's death during the pandemic. Through her powerful storytelling, she gives voice to the bereaved and shines a light on the often unseen challenges of being widowed young while raising a daughter. Recognised by the WAY community with the charity's annual blog award in 2023, Emma's writing captures both the raw rollercoaster of grief and the quiet strength it takes to get life back on track after such a devastating loss.""
