How To Be A Good Friend: A story of a visually impaired boy and how he and his friends learn about kindness, strength, and understanding.

Overview

This is a story of two boys, Carson and Michael who are best friends. Michael has a vision disability, and uses a cane. The boys head to a park where other boys are playing basketball. The other boys bully Michael after he misses the ball. Carson stands up to the bullies and tells them they are wrong. The two boys leave and have fun playing with action figures. The next day, Michael introduces Carson to his new guide dog, Jake. The boys venture into the woods nearby with Jake leading the way. The bullies from the court see them and begin chasing them further and further until they are all lost. The bullies are not as brave as they think as they are all scared. However, Michael gives them candy, and assures them that Jake can lead them out of the woods. Carson convinces them that they should follow Michael. With the boys all following they are safely back home. The bullies are now ashamed of how they treated Michael and apologize. They ask him and Michael if they want to join their band, after hearing Michael and Carson play the keyboard and drums. They all pet Jake and shake hands as friends.
