Overview

A traditional haunted house story in a contemporary setting, and full of current fears, Horrorstor delivers a high-concept premise in a unique style. Something strange is happening at the Orsk furniture superstore in Cleveland. Every morning, employees arrive to find broken Kjerring bookshelves, shattered Glans water goblets, and smashed Liripip wardrobes-clearly someone, or something, is up to no good. To unravel the mystery, five young employees volunteer for a long dusk-till-dawn shift and encounter horrors that defy imagination. Along the way, author Grady Hendrix infuses sly social commentary on the nature of work in the new twenty-first-century economy. A traditional haunted house story in a contemporary setting, and full of current fears, Horrorstor delivers a high-concept premise in a unique style.

Author Information

Grady Hendrix is a novelist and screenwriter based in New York City. His novels include Horrorstor, named one of the best books of 2014 by National Public Radio, and My Best Friend's Exorcism, for which the Wall Street Journal dubbed him a national treasure. His novel Paperbacks from Hell won the Bram Stoker Award. Tai Sammons earned her degree in theater from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, where she worked at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. This award-winning actress currently resides upstate in Portland, with her beloved black pug, Oscar. Bronson Pinchot, an Audie Award-winning narrator and Audible's Narrator of the Year for 2010, received his education at Yale University, which filled out what he had already received at his mother's knee in the all-important areas of Shakespeare, Greek art and architecture, and the Italian Renaissance. He restores Greek Revival buildings and appears in television, film, and on stage whenever the pilasters and entablatures overwhelm him.
