God in the Soap Opera

Overview

God in the Soap Opera was written to perk the minds and hearts of soap opera lovers as well as non-soap opera lovers. The gist of the matter is this: Some people claim to loathe 'soaps' because they feel the soaps are shallow creations of fiction and that the lives and relationships are not really a true picture of our everyday lives, but I beg to differ. If you have watched any or all of the soaps you will find that every conflict, every negative and positive relationship, all the deceitful double-crossings, disloyalties, infidelities, faults, failures and downfalls that we see, have occurred in one way or another with some or all of us who walk this earth. This publication gives all of us a chance to weigh our thoughts, to search ourselves, to relate to the characters on the soap operas and realize that the lives of those characters give us the opportunity to see ourselves occasionally and see how our lives sometimes fall right in line with those of our most despised or most loved characters. God in the Soap Opera gives us the opportunity to be more open-minded and to realize that some of the writers and some of the producers may have undergone some of the same experiences they write about; things may not be really happening in the lives of those characters at the time we are watching, but it is happening somewhere, may be in our own lives at the very time. Be it known that we need to stop being so judgmental about the soaps - if we watch Law and Order, and many other TV shows and if we go to the movie theatre to see our favorite flicks, how are these productions any different. Most of the dramas, murder mysteries and action-packed movies bear the resemblance of some of the plots of the soaps. One of my favorites is Sleeping with the Enemy and just what do we see in this? Some of the exact occurrences that we see in the soaps. Not only do I applaud the writers and the actors of the soaps, but I also want to give praise to Almighty God, who can be seen
