OverviewThis is a story of a rebellious rabbit, always in a fight with his brothers. In order to prove himself, the rabbit jumps from one danger to another. George the rebel is a portrayal of a hyperactive child. He is quarrelsome, swaggering and always the one to take action. Throughout the tale our rabbit compares himself to scarier and more menacing animals. The children love this exaggeration and they play along with the rabbit. This is the story of few level. On the initial level, the child reads the book with an adult, using pictures it can 'translate'. On the second level, using the footnotes as instructions, the adult has pointers how to continue or expand the story, drawing inspiration from the child's experiences in kindergarten, school and other, everyday events. At the bottom of each page, there are comments. These were added as an aid to the parent, to link the story with the child's life. The footnotes were developed with the help of psychologists, social pedagogues and teachers from various kindergartens and Waldorf schools. This story is an excellent tool to nourish a child's emotional intelligence - to recognize and explain his feelings. It can help prevent abuse between children and help protect them. This book on each pages has three ladybugs and three daisies hidden. Can you spot them all?
