OverviewIn 2002, Blaine Thompson accidentally ran across a website promoting alternative views of reality while he was searching space program related material. The blatant conviction of the website spurred Thompson toward the conviction of his own that he needed to understand how adherents of the paranormal interpret the world and assimilate to their personal cosmologies. Focusing on the topic of ghosts, Thompson felt that in order to live up to the objective standards of science, as well as its spirit of inquiry, then he needed to go out into the field where ghostly claims exist. Thompson immediately knew that he needed to begin his quest by not only learning from scientists, but from magicians, as well. He never dreamed that he would go from not only accumulating stories about ghost hunting from a critical perspective, but that he would also gain an honorary grandmother who owned an antebellum home of splendor, and eventually sit with the homeowners at a watch party when their haunted home was featured on the Travel Channel. This book began as a blog. It has been expanded in order to encourage the logical procedure that Thompson espouses when considering the question of whether or not ghosts are a reality. Although it contains critical breakdown of current ideas, as well as those proposed in the past, it seeks not to invoke debunkery, but rather soundness of method when considering evidence. What does Microsoft have in common with ghosts? Why do ghosts like to throw bricks? What really happened on Christmas morning of 2019? Why did the ghost of Linden Hill make the former hallway a thoroughfare for apparitional appearances? Cast a vote for the continued success of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. All proceeds from this book will be directly donated to St. Jude.
