Overview

Three years after the curse on Lumatere was lifted, Froi has found his home... or so he believes. But the unsuspecting Froi is confronted by confusion about Quintana, Charyn's last-born princess and prophesized redeemer, as well as by his own damaged nature and hurtful past. Cartwright doesn't shy away from intensity in his portrayals. He captures Quintana's mix of fury, madness, and vulnerability and gives context by showing the abuse surrounding her and the tenderness she provokes in Froi. Author Information

Melina Marchetta is an Australian writer and former teacher. Her first novel, Looking for Alibrandi, was released in 1992 to much acclaim, sweeping the pool of young adult literary awards. Melina has also written short stories including Twelve Minutes as part of a Books Alive anthology, along with reviews and opinion pieces for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and The Australian Literary Review. She has been a writer-in-residence around the country, as far north as Thursday Island and as far south as Hobart. Melina now lives in Sydney and writes full-time. Grant Cartwright is an award-winning actor who has performed extensively in Australia with the Melbourne Theatre Company, Sydney Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre, La Mama Theatre and many others. A 2005 graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, Grant returned from New York where he performed with the Manhattan Repertory Theatre and the 45th Street Theater. He frequently lends his voice to many international film productions for English Language dubbing, and among his screen credits is the HBO mini-series The Pacific.
