A Belgian Cultural Journey for Kids! Friday is a precocious 9-year-old American girl. Her parents' love of reading and travel rubs off on her and she learns to be curious and in awe of the world around her. When Friday learns that she's about to spend a year in Belgium, she dreams of eating Belgian waffles and chocolate every day and wearing diamonds from Antwerp. Little does she know that she's about to embark on an adventure that will forever change how she sees the world. Her experiences with a street protest, a written exchange with the Belgian Santa Claus, a friendship with a comic book enthusiast, and walks through the historical sights of Belgium teach Friday that, while the customs of another country may at first seem strange, every place has something valuable to teach us.
