OverviewBeing a good short seller requires the right framework, some level of judgement/logic/creativity, and hard work/incredible diligence. In this book, Nitin Sacheti, the Founder and Portfolio Manager of Papyrus Capital walks through (1) his overarching process and tenets required to identify great short opportunities in Chapter 1 and (2) in Chapters 2-9, highlights examples of his process through cases of previous shorts. Rather than describing historical situations in retrospect, Sacheti lays out the a-priori process of identifying and analyzing shorts with the numbers and scenarios researched as the thesis plays out. This provides the reader with a great look at the work involved in assessing a short and the overarching, replicable tenets the reader can utilize to repeat these successful outcomes. (3) Finally, the book ends with short-burst examples of many shorts that passed the initial sourcing phase but failed to fulfill the tenets during the diligence phase, offering the reader a contrast between good and bad shorts.
