OverviewThe demands for internally differentiated and inclusive (mathematics) teaching are of central importance in the current pedagogical and didactic debate. This book uses a combination of case studies to examine the extent to which the required implementation of internal differentiation is being realised in primary school teaching practice. First, the basic concepts of heterogeneity, inclusion and differentiation are developed theoretically and the state of research regarding teachers' attitudes is presented. Subsequently, possible differentiation measures for (mathematics) teaching in primary schools and the current state of research regarding the application of internal differentiation are presented before inclusive mathematics teaching is discussed. The existing implementation is then examined on the basis of four aspects: conditions, implementation, effectiveness and reasons against internal differentiation, and is summarised in a final evaluation of the research results.
