It contains a transcription of all the surviving books of the reign of James I. (1603-2 The remaining books of the Court Leet series are in the. Hands of Rev. W. E. Ashdown, ba. (1625 Miss E. R. Aubrey, ma. (1660 and Miss M. G. Sims, ma. (1714 onward). It is hoped that in course of time they will be issued in three parts to form the second volume of the Records. But before their publication takes place the Committee has decided to print some other documents of interest, such as Speed's History of Southampton, the Borough Charters, the Black Book, and some portion of the Books of Examinations and Depositions.
