Overview

The objective of the book is to present a compendium of management case studies highlighting some of the contemporary issues and problems in business management. These case studies will offer experiential learning and will spur the interest of the students, faculties and managers in understanding the various management practices and functions in Indian organizations. Dr. Sanjeev Bansal is Director of Amity Business School. His areas of interest include decision sciences, operations & management. He obtained his Ph.D. in the area of Applied Mathematics. Dr. Bansal has been actively involved in teaching, research and consultancy in a distinguished career spanning 23 years. He was nominated by Amity University to attend colloquiums and interact with academicians at Wharton, New York University and Harvard. An avid researcher, Dr. Bansal has three books and more than 70 research papers published in national and international journals of repute and have guided 12 students for PhD. Apart from his areas of specialization, he has research interests in the areas of spirituality and management, and spiritualism and quality of work life. Dr. Bansal serves on the academic and advisory boards of many reputed institutes and universities and is member of a number of professional bodies. Dr. Sujatha is an Associate Professor in the Department of HR at Amity Business School. She obtained her PhD from the Dept. of Commerce, University of Madras. She has been a research associate with the Foundation for Sustainable Development, IIT (Madras) where she conducted research on Costing of Health Care Interventions in the State of Tamil Nadu, a project funded by WHO. Her areas of interest include strategic management, business environment and strategic analysis, outsourcing, strategic human resource management, entrepreneurship and emotional intelligence. She has to her credit conference papers and published research papers in national and international journals. Presently she has 3 PhD scholars under her guidance. She is also a stream coordinator for the Area of Entrepreneurship in Amity University. Dr Ashok Sharma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing and Sales at Amity Business School, Noida. With nineteen years of experience in industry, academics, research, training and consul-ting he has a right amalgamation of skills to deal with variety of situations. He has served as Centre Head with IBM Education Center and also with ITSA, education wing of SRG infotech. He has been an active institution builder, being one of the founder faculty at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad and with NIEC, Shastri Park, Delhi. Dr Sharma has shouldered many administrative responsibilities like Program Coordinator, Head of Department, Head Examination, Head Grievance Cell etc. Dr Sharma has several publications in reputed refereed international and national journals and in the proceedings of the refereed international and national conferences. He is reviewer of various journals including African Journal of Business Management; South Africa and is on editorial board of Ouredu International Journal. Dr Sharma has also been actively involved in training and he has organized and conducted various MDP/EDPs for a number of companies for middle and senior executives including that of PSUs, corporates, SMEs and other government departments like Jal Nigam and UP Avas Vikas Parishad. He was also a trainer for volunteers for Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi in 2010 at Amity University, Noida. He is a certified case study teacher for HBSP, Harvard, US. His area of specialization is Marketing & Strategy.
