In 2007 Meryl had what was thought to be a lipoma removed and in fact, it was cancer. The tumor was determined to be Sarcoma. She had a reoccurrence in 2015. In 2018 she was truck with a metastasized tumor in the brain. The story tells about her medical treatment in 2007. The majority of the book details her last 340 days before her death in 2019.Her story is inspiring and it is injected with her wonderful sense of humor. Certainly, a must-read.

Meryl Getline was a retired airline captain. She wrote her first book The World at My Feet in 2004. The World at My Feet is an exciting, inspirational, and humorous book about her adventures in becoming an airline captain. Meryl retired in 2005 and had her first bout with cancer in 2007.Meryl's second book Cancer We are not Amused is the story of her journey with cancer. She wrote the last chapter just days before her death from this dreaded disease. A large portion of the book covers the last 340 days before her passing.This book is informing, inspiring, and is a testimony to her positive attitude and to the humor she portrayed in her life. Part of the story is about the discovery of her first Sarcoma in 2007 and the initial medical care, possibly the reason her life ended in 2019.
