Reviews

Annette Carson: With Barbara Gaskell Denvil I know her research will be bang-on and her atmosphere entirely credible, right down to the smallest detail. Some of her scenes are so brilliantly realized that they've opened my eyes to realities I had never considered. Her feel for 15th-century London is so immersive that when you look up from the page it's almost a shock to come back to the 21st century. Chill With A Book: A great read that transported the reader instantly into 15th century England. I felt I walked in the footsteps of the characters and lived their lives. Discovering Diamonds: London, the setting for this tale, is as much a character as are the people who populate the city and the story. We see it as it was back in the 1400s R D Gregory: A convincing theory of the political conflict between the Yorkists and Lancastrian leading to Richard III mixed with exciting action and torrid romance. At least as good as wolf hall. Amazon Customer: The author's characters are fantastic, three-dimensional and likeable and the story is fast-moving and enthralling. Likewise the depiction of this time period is authentic and believable, conjuring up the sights, smells. tastes and sounds of the later fifteenth century. Hidden Gems Reviewer: It was captivating from the start, and I found it hard to take a break from reading. The storyline was intriguing and was definitely thought-provoking. The characters were complex and well developed. Merrie: This is a terrific book! As a lover of English history, I was totally engrossed with this story. Spies, treachery, poison, plots against England's throne and romance all combine into a thoroughly absorbing tale. I couldn't stop reading it!

Author Information

She is a master of suspense, intrigue and holding the reader's attention My passion is for late English medieval history, I have written six historical fiction novels set around this period, but I also have a love of fantasy and the wild freedom of imagination that this brings. My trilogy 'Stars and a Wind' is a wonderful example of that freedom. And for all the younger readers, I have just released the latest installment of my Children's fantasy series, Bannister's Muster. Although some of my books have romantic undertones, they are not purely romances. There is adventure, crime, mystery and suspense with lots of twists and drama. My greatest loves are the beauty of the written word and bringing my characters to life, taking the reader with me into another world. Be it fantasy, historical or a combination of the two.
