Overview

Twelve-year-old Zara Morales just wants to hand out ""I Voted"" stickers. But when she overhears two council members laughing about a sneaky new rule-Proposition 17-that will ban anyone under eighteen from speaking at city budget meetings, she knows her little brother's chess club, her best friend's coding class, and her family's community garden are all in danger. With only eleven days until the vote, Zara teams up with her crew: rule-obsessed Theo, fearless video-maker Luna, and comic-drawing Milo. Using nothing but the real rules of local government, they door-knock, make viral videos, file petitions, and stand up at city hall with shaky voices and sweaty palms.
