Overview

Brasilia, Brazil's capital since 1960, is as much an architectural myth as a place. Between 2003 and 2009, the Brazilian Korean artist Lina Kim and artist Michael Weseley embarked on a journey into the present day reality and the archives of the city. One result of the hunt is the Arquivo Brasilia, a collection of historical photo material on the genesis of the city. The artists also documented themselves against the backdrop of the cityscapes with long exposure photographs that exaggerate the city's utopian character providing an unusual perspective on this unique place.
