Gareth Davies is University Lecturer in American History at St. Anne's College, University of Oxford. He is the author of See Government Grow: Education Politics from Johnson to Reagan. Julian E. Zelizer is the Malcolm Stevenson Forbes, Class of 1941 Professor of History and Public Affairs at Princeton University. His most recent book is The Fierce Urgency of Now: Lyndon Johnson, Congress and the Battle for the Great Society.
