After his combat infantry training, he was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, and served with Alpha Company, 2/502nd Infantry in Northern I Corps. He was awarded two Bronze Stars, one with V Device, as well as the Purple Heart, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, VNS, VNC, NDS and Good Conduct medals, with a Presidential Unit Citation, and his most prized award, the Combat Infantryman's Badge. He has been a business executive for over 30 years, a husband to Jackie for 43 years, father to Dan and Mike, and grand-father to Nathan, Cade, Mattie, and Carter.
