A Missionary In Bolivia, Recollections and Reflections, reveals the experiences and challenges facing a newly ordained Catholic priest as he makes a decision to travel to the Latin American country of Bolivia during the 1960s. The story describes how a young man first completes many years of schooling and graduates from a Massachusetts seminary before accepting a vow of poverty, and volunteering to serve humanity in a distant foreign land. After traveling there and meeting local people, the new missionary begins to fully appreciate the magnificent high-altitude landscapes of Bolivia as well as the beautiful population of indigenous peoples struggling to survive in the midst of power struggles between the forces of capitalism and communism, and the haves and have-nots. Within that conflict and struggle is the American missionary who must choose who to believe, which side to join, and what actions to take while serving the best interests of people according to the Gospel of Jesus.
