Though the book has been recognized as standard and has formed the basis of the work of many of the leading com mercial schools and departments throughout the country for many years, the present revision has seemed a practical necessity owing, among other things, to the recent adoption in many states of uniform commercial codes, and to occasional important develop ments and applications of legal rules, or to statutory changes in the law.
