A Little Something To Hide

Overview

""All manner of people ride a Briscola coach. Some travel toward dreams, others are escaping horrors, each carries their secrets and the belief that they harbour truths known only to themselves"" When the Briscola coach leaves San Francisco, no one knows what secrets its passengers carry. Bobbie is hiding his sexuality, Rosa the pain of her abuse, Father Simon the faith he struggles to keep. Step on board to discover the lives of the travellers riding to Albuquerque and learn why each of them has a little something to hide. ""Brown excels at creating multidimensional, flawed individuals whose struggles and secrets stir empathy."" Editor's Pick, BookLife Reviews Craig Brown's debut novel, 'A Little Something To Hide', explores the lives of the passengers on the Briscola Coach Service from San Francisco to Albuquerque. Every traveller believes they're harbouring a secret that none of the world can see. Sharp, observant prose that captures vivid moments and the inner dramas, delusions, and backstories of a travelling ensemble.

""Brown's debut follows the lives of disparate, often desperate individuals, each harboring a secret, on a bus trip from San Francisco to Albuquerque, drawing readers into a hard world where ordinary appearances mask extraordinary truths. His sharp, observant prose captures both vivid moments in the present, but also the inner dramas, delusions, and backstories of these transients."" His characters are vividly drawn, their emotional journeys so intricately rendered that they feel achingly real. Every page resonates with authenticity, thanks to his keen insight into emotions and the connections that bind us."" Author Information

Craig Brown is a Kiwi-born author living in the United Kingdom. At the age of 16, I knew I wanted to write. At 18, after a ridiculously brief stint at university, I quit my Law and Commerce degrees to become a full time writer, which I eventually did, 31 years later.
