Overview

A Home for Toad, written and illustrated by Allison M. Webb, is a full color children's book that follows the adventures of a little toad, as he searches of a new place to call home. The story is set in a small shady backyard in the early summer. The little toad explores a vegetable garden, a warm sunny patch of grass, the brick skirt of a house, and some brightly colored toys in the yard before being discovered by a little girl who scoops him up to gently look at hime closer. She releases him down to a flower bed where the little toad comes across an old broken flower pot hidden under the greenery of some plants. The quiet, shady spot that the old flower pot creates ends up being the perfect home.

Author Information

Allison M. Webb is an artist, teacher, and children's book author/illustrator in Memphis, TN. She earned her BFA at the University of Memphis and studied Plein Air Painting at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. Allison is inspired by her experiences raising her children and living in the south. She believes that it is her duty, as an artist, to use her creative gifts to help other see the beauty in the world around them, from the monumental to the mundane. Wonder, humility, and gratefulness allow us to see beyond our own experiences and help us to give back to the world the same measure of beauty we take from it.
